Welcome to the Sweet Potato Project.
We are going to build a Caribbean community who can make available their West Indian recipes and their mother's recipes. We can make theses available to people around the world, so that everyone of all cultures who can access the web can create and taste authentic Caribbean meals. At the moment I believe West Indian meals are underrated and are not as popular Chinese, Indian, Tai, Malaysian etc.
We know that West Indian cooks do not measure the amounts of coconut cream they would put in soup and so on, because instincts take over at this stage. But now we would like to help other cultures to prepare their Caribbean meals, which means all spices, vegetables and so on will have to be measured.
There are lots of dishes that are not documented and I welcome anyone to share their recipes to all.
All recipes will be tested by the web community and rated from one to ten to determine which are the most popular and tasty meals across the board. All credits will be given to every recipe that comes in and posted at this web site.
Please register for free. This will give you the option to add your recipes and provide feedback or make comments on existing recipes.
New: We have added Caribbean Cakes that are decorated in nearly all forms and at high standard. These cakes are baked and decorated by my wife Lorna. Any feedback is welcomed
Enjoy!
